Ritonavir, HIV protease inhibitor, if used concomitantly with Viagra, may contribute to a 4-fold through 11-fold increases in sildenafil plasma levels.
Using Viagra with some heat drugs, particularly nitrates, is potentially dangerous. Sildenafil impacts nitric oxide exchange and therefore it is quick to interact with drugs that contain nitrogen, which are mostly used to treat cardiac disorders. Concomitant use of Viagra with nitroglycerin can cause blood pressure to fall dramatically. There have been reports about significant increases in the occurrence of acute myocardial infarction and severe cardiac insufficiency due to simultaneous use of Viagra and nitrates.
